About Us
Helping families become part of the recovery process
Pathroot Health partners with addiction treatment providers to engage and educate families from the first day of treatment through long-term recovery. Our platform helps programs reduce early discharge, strengthen treatment completion, and stay connected with families after discharge—while providing measurable data for outcomes and value-based care.
Why We Started Pathroot
Our founder, Carolyn Bradfield, spent years navigating treatment programs while trying to help her daughter Laura through addiction. Like many families, they often felt unsure how to help. Guidance was limited, family involvement was inconsistent, and support frequently ended when treatment ended.
Laura often appeared healthy at discharge, but without clear tools, boundaries, and ongoing support, the family struggled to play a constructive role in recovery. At 29, Laura died from her first and only overdose after a 15-year struggle.
That loss led to a simple, but powerful conviction: Families must be part of the treatment process, not observers of it.
Pathroot was created to help treatment providers engage families from the very beginning and continue supporting them throughout recovery.
