Rick has played a pivotal role in founding, co-founding, or being an initial executive team member for five successful digital health startups, all leading to high-value exits. His expertise spans go-to-market strategies, R&D, international regulatory approvals, and business development. Rick’s innovative mindset is exemplified by his status as a patent holder for groundbreaking healthcare solutions, including the first wireless blood glucose meter and technologies in telehealth, clinician alerts, and contextual health data.
Some of Rick’s notable achievements include leading the development and global launch of the first wireless blood glucose meter and cloud-based patient management platform, achieving regulatory approval in 50 countries and selling over 50,000 units.
